Salt Pig & Shaker
Keep salt close at hand while cooking and ready for the table with this handmade ceramic salt pig and shaker.
The wide opening allows easy access to salt during food preparation, while the removable shaker sits neatly on top when not in use. Use the salt pig for pinches and larger quantities while cooking, then lift out the shaker for seasoning at the table.
The shaker uses an internal funnel design rather than holes on the top. Salt is held within an inner chamber and dispensed through a small opening when shaken, creating a clean and simple form that sits comfortably within the salt pig. For best results, use fine sea salt or table salt and keep the shaker dry.
Each piece is individually made and glazed by hand, making every salt pig unique.
This piece features red and yellow slip decoration, finished with a translucent red glaze on the exterior and dark red on the interior. Bottom half of the shaker is unglazed for easier grip and tactile experiance.

Care
Salt pig and shaker are food safe.
The shaker should not be washed or immersed in water, as moisture can become trapped inside and cause the salt to clump. If cleaning is needed, wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and allow it to dry completely before refilling.
The salt pig itself is dishwasher safe. However, regular dishwasher use may gradually diminish the glaze surface over time. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the glaze finish.

Orders are dispatched within 5 working days via tracked UK delivery. At present, I ship within the United Kingdom only. Tracking details will be provided once your parcel is on its way.
Returns
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery for UK orders. Unless an item is faulty or incorrect, return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer. Items must be returned unused and carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit. Returns damaged due to inadequate packaging may not be eligible for a full refund.
