6. Returns
Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have 14 days from receiving goods to cancel your order.
To return an item, please contact me within 14 days of delivery.
Items must be returned:
-

Return postage is the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty.
If a returned item is damaged due to inadequate packaging, Nika Kurent Ceramics reserves the right to reduce or refuse the refund where the item is no longer saleable. Custom or personalised pieces are non-refundable unless faulty.
7. Damaged or Faulty Items

Faulty items will be handled in accordance with UK consumer law.
Workshops
8. Booking & Payment
A workshop date is secured once a 50% non-refundable deposit has been paid.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 14 days before the workshop date.
If the balance is not received by this deadline, I reserve the right to cancel the workshop and retain the deposit.
The booking host is responsible for the full agreed workshop fee, regardless of any change in participant numbers.
Minimum group size and travel charges are agreed at the time of booking.
Workshop format and any specific demonstration options must be confirmed in advance of the session. Where a workshop involves a specific design or subject (for example, an animal figurine), the booking host must confirm the selection prior to the workshop to allow for preparation and to ensure the session runs to time.
9. Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you need to cancel, please let me know in writing as soon as possible.
-
Cancellations more than 14 days before the workshop: any balance paid will be refunded, but the deposit is retained.
-
Cancellations within 14 days of the workshop: the full workshop fee remains payable, as materials and preparation will already be underway.
Rescheduling is possible with at least 14 days’ notice, subject to availability.
Rescheduling may be offered once per booking. Any further changes may require a new booking and deposit.
If I need to cancel due to illness or circumstances beyond my control, I will offer either:
-
A rescheduled date, or
-
A full refund of all payments made.
10. Venue & Practical Requirements
The booking host is responsible for providing:
-
Suitable table space
-
Adequate working room
-
Parking for unloading and setup
-
Running water for workshop, handwashing and cleaning
I provide clay, tools and surface protection. I do not provide venue hire, refreshments or protective clothing.
Some workshops are designed for younger participants where agreed in advance. For Young Makers Clay Party bookings, a responsible adult must remain present throughout the session. These workshops are guided creative activities and not childcare services. Supervision and behaviour of participants remain the responsibility of attending adults.
For workshops involving younger participants, I reserve the right to pause or end the session if appropriate adult supervision is not provided.
Participants are responsible for following safety guidance during the session.
11. Fired Work
The number of pieces included per participant will be agreed at the time of booking. Any additional pieces requested on the day may incur additional charges.
All work requires drying and kiln firing time. Estimated timelines will be communicated in advance, but exact completion dates cannot be guaranteed. I aim to have all pieces finished within 4 weeks.
Ceramics may warp, crack or vary slightly during drying and firing. These are natural outcomes of the material and kiln process and are not considered faults. In the rare case of complete destruction of a piece, alternatives wil be discussed.
Collection or delivery arrangements will be agreed at the time of booking. Where postage is required, packaging and shipping costs may apply.
Branded Gifts & Commissions
12. Quotes
All quotes are provided in writing and are based on the agreed brief at the time of enquiry, including quantity, product type, finish, branding method and delivery requirements.
If the brief changes during the design phase, including significant design alterations, changes to quantities, product type, finish or deadlines, the quoted price for the finished pieces may change. Any revised pricing will be confirmed in writing before production continues.
Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.
13. Design Phase
A fixed design fee (agreed in advance) is payable before design work begins.
The design fee includes:
-
Development of one design direction based on your brief
-
One revision
-
Preparation of the sample for production approval
If additional revisions or a new design direction are requested, further charges may apply.
The initial design phase may take up to 6 weeks to produce a sample for approval, particularly where new stamps must be ordered and samples made, dried and fired.
Design timelines are estimates and depend on production schedules and kiln availability.
The design fee is non-refundable once work has started.
14. Artwork and Logos
Clients must supply logos and/or artwork in ready-to-use vector format (AI, EPS or SVG) suitable for stamp production.
If supplied artwork is not production-ready and requires redrawing or adjustment, an additional fee may apply. Any such fee will be agreed before work proceeds.
By supplying artwork or logos, the client confirms they have the legal right to authorise their use.
15. Approval & Production
Production will only begin once:
-
The final design or sample has been approved in writing; and
-
The agreed production deposit has been paid.
Once final approval has been given and production has started, changes may not be possible.
16. Payment Terms
Branded gift orders are subject to staged payment:
-
Design fee, payable upfront before design work begins.
-
Production deposit, 50% of the total production cost, payable before production begins.
-
Balance, payable before dispatch or collection of finished items.
If payment deadlines are not met, I reserve the right to pause production or withhold dispatch until payment is received.
17. Cancellations
All cancellation requests must be made in writing.
-
If cancelled before design work begins, no design fee is payable.
-
If cancelled after design work has started, the design fee is non-refundable.
-
If cancelled after final approval but before production has begun, any costs already incurred (including artwork, stamp orders, materials or sample production) remain payable.
-
Once production has started, commissioned items are non-cancellable and the full production cost remains payable.
Custom and commissioned items are non-refundable once production has started.
18. Timelines
Estimated production timelines will be provided at the time of booking. These are estimates only and may vary depending on quantity ordered, drying times, kiln schedules and material availability.
If items are required for a specific event date, this must be agreed in writing at the time of order.
19. Intellectual Property
All product forms, designs and ceramic concepts remain the intellectual property of Nika Kurent Ceramics.
Client logos and supplied artwork remain the property of the client.
The application of a client’s logo to my designs does not transfer ownership of my designs or grant permission for replication or reproduction elsewhere.
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, I reserve the right to photograph commissioned work for portfolio and promotional use.
